Children all over the underdeveloped and developing countries are living in poverty and suffering from both preventable and unpreventable disease and starvation due to natural and man-made disasters.
In Nepal, the situation is dire, due to political unpredictability, natural calamities, hunger, poverty and malnutrition nearly 2 million children or about 6% of the nation’s total population are orphaned, helpless, deprived environment, wherein the family life revealed a patterns of neglected moral degradation, disregarded. We began in Shindhupalchok district, a place well-known for child-abuse and human trafficking of young girls, and over the years we expanded our efforts, rescuing children from diverse circumstances throughout the Nation. DOCS Foundation Nepal was founded to provide shelter, healthcare, and educational support to as many Orphan and Destitute children as possible living in Nepal, where living conditions are extremely harsh and also Children compelled to go to street and live there.
The mission of the organisation is to be a lifeline for these children in the hope that they might create a very different future for Nepal for subsequent generations of children.
DOCS FOUNDATION NEPAL provides guardianship, shelter, healthcare and educational support to orphan, destitute, street children and child labourers in order to rehabilitate them into family and society.
We support as many of these children as possible living in the remote and hilly regions of the country – where living conditions are extremely harsh.
We began our work in Sindhupalchok district, a place well-known for child-abuse and the trafficking of young girls. Over the years we have expanded our efforts to support children from diverse circumstances. DOCS Foundation Nepal now runs a number of charitable projects to relieve the effects of child poverty. These include: rehabilitation schemes for street children and child labor; health camps for children in remote villages; assistance for schools in rural areas; provision of educational scholarships for children from marginalized communities; support for orphans through our orphanages.
